Strong, ADA compliant, 5 Year Warranty
Our Type 304 Stainless steel or Zinc Covered Steel grab bars are fully compliant with structural strength requirements. Certain models of grab bars that provide 38mm clearance from the wall can support in excess of 408KG when properly installed, complying with accessible ADA design for structural strength. Bobrick utilizes the Mandrel bending process to ensure uniform bar diameter around curves. All joints and supports are contour-cut and welded, concealed anchors and fasteners are available as an optional accessory. Peace of mind with 5 year limited warranty.
Antimicrobial Surfacing, Biocompatible – Perfectly Suitable for Healthcare facilities
PBS offers Vinyl-coated Grab bars with antibacterial coating, ensuring the bar surfaces are hygienic and suitable for healthcare facilities. The Vinyl coating is also warm-to-the-touch compared to stainless steel finishes. Bobrick Vinyl-coated bars are also Biocompatible- made from materials that are not harmful or toxic to living tissue, ensuring safety for all users.
Satin Finish Vs. Peened Finish
According to new research, When clutched with wet hands, satin-finish grab bars give 10% more traction than peened-finish grab bars. The National Building Code of Canada (NBC) originally required “peened” or “knurled” finishes in “wet” parts of healthcare facilities; however, the code has been changed to demand “slip-resistant” finishes in such applications.
This is especially important in “Wet” environments such as grab bar toilets or Shower safety bars. For peened finish on any Bobrick grab bar, add .99 to the model number (e.g., B-5806.99 x 18).
The standard satin finish on all Bobrick grab bar series provides a slip-resistant surface that outperforms peened-finish grab bars in terms of grip performance. Because peened-finish grab bars, which are frequently chosen for “wet areas,” cost approximately 20% more than satin-finish grab bars, peened-finish grab bars result in reduced value to the building owner.
